HOW TO ENTER: Visit www.goodmannersarecontagious.com and click on "It's Cool To Be Kind" Contest. Follow the instructions how to upload a photo to the “It's Cool to Be Kind ” contest photo gallery or post a short story of 90 words of less. All submissions must have an email contact and phone number. By uploading a photo and sharing your story you agree to the terms of these official rules. Entries must be received by the last Monday of each month. Submitting the photo and entry into the contest serves as a release and permission for www.goodmannersarecontagious.com to post contestant’s photo or story on the web site and any other media. Photos in black and white or color will be accepted but are non-returnable and must be non-professional photographs. All digital entries should be at the highest resolution possible up to and including 2000 pixels along longest edge. The photo should be cropped as preferred by the entrant. Good Manners are Contagious reserves the right to refuse any photograph or story they determine to be unacceptable. Limit one entry per person.
Who can enter?
Parents, family members, educators, and the community members who are passionate about making a difference and making our planet more respectful. Community members can be described as your neighbor, a restaurant server, babysitter, gas station attendant, librarian, and can include community organizations, businesses, and civil servants. Entries must be submitted by an adult (over the age of 18), parent, family (grandparent) or legal guardian of the entered child.
Minors who want to nominate someone for the contest ( children under 18) must get their parents/guardians permission and send it along with their photo/story.

How are the winners chosen?
The judges will be looking for cool, innovative ways that people promote and pass on purposeful acts of kindness that impact our lives everyday.
A winner in each category will be selected on the last Friday of every month and posted on the web site at the end of that day.
What do I need to submit?
A photo or short story along with an email address and phone number and an additional release for any person under the age of 18 years old. The photo must depict an action that shows a person, groups of people, or animals demonstrating purposeful acts of kindness. The short story can include personal accounts of demonstrating kindness, compassion and caring about others. Whether you're setting out to change the world - or just your little corner of it - you're eligible to enter the "It's Cool to be Kind" Contest.
Are there any restrictions on what I can submit?
This includes words or imagery:
1.That are sexually charged or suggestive,
2.That depict acts of violence or cruelty,
3.That attack or disparage or present in a false light ANY individual or group of people as such,
4.That are otherwise vile, nasty or otherwise uncivil and inappropriate.
Prizes: One winner from each category will be chosen monthly and will receive our "It's Cool to be Kind" t-shirt.
Winner Notification and Acceptance. Each winner will be notified by email by Good Manners are Contagious the last Friday of every month.
The winner may waive her right to receive prizes. Each winner will be mailed the gift by sending in an address for that email account. It will be mailed by standard mail.
Copyright. By entering the Contest, each participant grants to Good Manners are Contagious, an exclusive, royalty-free and irrevocable right and license to publish, print, edit or otherwise use the contestant's submitted entry, in whole or in part, for any purpose and in any manner or media (including, without limitation, the Internet) throughout the world in perpetuity, and to license others to do so, all without limitation or further compensation. Each contestant further agrees that if his/her entry is selected by Good Manners are Contagious as the winning entry, he/she will sign any additional license or release that Good Manners are Contagious may require, and will not publicly perform or display his or her submission without the express permission of Good Manners are Contagious.
Limitations of Liability. By entering the Contest, entrant agrees that (1) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with the Contest, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually without resort to any form of class action, and entrant waives his or her right to a jury trial for such disputes, claims, and causes of action; (2) any claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the Contest, but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (3) under no circumstances will any entrant be permitted to obtain any award for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental or consequential damages and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased and any other damages, other than damages for actual out-of-pocket expenses.
